Courtney Upshaw
BAMA picked up verbal commitment number 10 this afternoon when Eufaula High School's Courtney Upshaw announced his plans to sign with the Tide. Upshaw is a defensive end who plays with a non-stop motor, and has a knack for making big plays. While he excels at rushing the quarterback, he is also good at getting off blocks and containing the running back. At BAMA, Upshaw would likely find a home at outside (jack) linebacker where his versatility and skills could be best utilized. As a junior, he collected an impressive 96 tackles (20 TFL), 12 sacks, and 3 INT's. Upshaw chose the Tide over offers from LSU, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, and Louisville.
