Cardinal bats come alive in victory

St Louis scored 8 runs in the first 3 innings and that was all they needed. They went on to defeat the Dodgers 8-4 in Los Angeles on Monday night. No one could be more happier than pitcher Brad Thompson as he went on to pitch 6 strong innings of baseball that included 70% of his pitches were strikes. Nothing like getting a nice cushion to allow oneself to be aggressive!

The Redbirds pounded out 13 hits to go with their 8 runs. Chris Duncan got his 6th home run of the season in the second inning. Short stop David Eckstein led the Cardinal attack with 3 hits.

WP Brad Thompson 2-0 Isringhausen got his 10th save of the season.
LP Brett Tomko 1-4. He went just 2 and 1/3 innings.
