Make it three in a row

Going into Tuesdays game with Colorado, the Redbirds were 2-11 in their last 13 road games. After their game with the Rockies make it 2-12 with a 3 game losing streak. And to make matters worse, Molina was taken out of the game with an injury and Speizio was pulled because of illness. The Cardinals lost to Colorado 8-3.

Rockie pitcher Rodrigo Lopez was on the mound for the Rockies was pitching his first game since coming off of injured reserve, and the Cardinal batters and this blogger wished he had stayed on injured reserve for a few more days! He pitched 6 innings giving up just 6 hits and 3 runs. He had 7 strike outs that included 5 in the first 9 outs of the game for St Louis.

Cardinal ace Braden Looper was his own worse enemy. He walked 5 batters, including 3 in a row to start the 4th inning, then catcher Yorvit Torrealba hit his first home run of the year, a grand slam to left center field to break a 1-1 tie and put the game out of reach.

Scott Rolen was the only bright spot for the Cardinals in the sense he had 3 hits including his 3rd home run of the year in the fifth inning. A one run shot. Jim Edmonds hit his 4th of the year in the 7th. Another one run home run.

Brad Hawpe hit his 7th home run in the 7th inning. A two out two run shot.

WP Rodrigo Lopez 2-0
LP Braden Looper 6-4 ERA 3.65
