Redbirds snap 5 game skid

Going into last nights game with the Astros, to say things were looking bleak is an understatement. The Cardinals were on a five game losing streak and going to the mound was Adam Wainwright. Adam had a record of 1-2, but a ERA of over 6. Keep in mind that St. Louis had not been a very good home team so far and their bats have been silent more than not most of the year, the stage was set for yet another loss.

Pitching came through for them! Wainwright pitched 6 innings giving up just 7 hits and 2 runs. Add to that the fact that the Cardinal bullpen combined for 9 big outs to lead the Cardinals to a 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros.

WP Wainwright 2-2 Isringhausen save 7
LP Williams 0-5. He pitched 6 innings. 5 hits 3 runs.
