Cards lose again

Going into yesterdays game against the Colorado Rockies, I knew there was going to be trouble. Four of our regulars would not play. St Louis was 2-10 in the last 12 road games. Colorado was playing inspired ball by winning their last 5 games in a row. Add to the fact that Kip Wells was pitching, all of this put together was a recipe for disaster. And it was a disaster.

Led by the strong pitching of Jeff Francis, Colorado defeated St Louis 6-2 in a Matinee game on Memorial Day.

So Taguchi hit his first home run of the season in the 8th inning off of Francis.

Kip Wells, pitched 6 and 1/3 innings giving up 11 hits and 6 runs. He gave up two home runs. Holliday (9, 1st inning off Wells, 0 on, 2 out), Hawpe (6, 7th inning off Wells, 1 on, 1 out).

WP Jeff Francis 4-4 7 2/3 innings, 5 hits 2 runs.
LP Kip Wells 2-9.
