Suppan's counter part Kip Wells struggled through 6 innings, giving up 6 hits on 7 runs, 3 walks and 1 homerun to Fielder, his 6th of the year in the 3rd inning.

The Cardinals may still be in mourning from the tragic and sudden death of their former relief pitcher Josh Hancock who was killed in a car crash recently. Publicly they not admitting it.
